Cookeville City Council approved a resolution conveying a portion of land off of Tennessee Avenue to the Industrial Development Board Thursday night. The Cookeville Police Department will purchase four new hybrid vehicles for $36,000 each. Chief Randy Evans said it was a first for the department. The new Cookeville Police Department will feature a fallen officer memorial near the front entrance.
