Jamestown Rezones Two Pieces Of Property

The Jamestown City Council approved two rezoning requests along Rugby Avenue. The Planning Commission recommended the approval to rezone the property C-1, General Business. One parcel is located at 234 Rugby Avenue, the other at 709 Rugby Avenue. Both properties had been zoned high density residential. The Council approved the rezoning Monday night on final reading 4-0. Bowden Approved For Jamestown Aldermen Seat

The Jamestown Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the nomination of James Red Bowden to fill a vacant seat on the board Monday night. Bowden will replace Vanessa Matthews who resigned in February. More Than 4K Without Power In Fentress

Strong winds Sunday evening led to some 4,000 Fentress County residents being without power. Volunteer Energy reports major power outages in both the Jamestown and Clarkrange areas just before 8pm Sunday.
