Fentress Sees 105 COVID Cases In 5 Days

45 positive COVID-19 test results in Fentress County Wednesday, bringing the five day total to 105. The county’s positive rate, the percentage of positive tests, stands at better than 31 percent. Cumberland County Commissioners Monday will consider amending the contract between the state, Department of Mental Health, and the county. The contract provides payment for treatments ordered by the justice system for misdemeanor defendants. Contractors are conducting emergency slide repairs to State Route 85 in Fentress and Overton Counties resulting in some road closures. The people of Fentress County voted for change on the Board of Education. Only one incumbent running opposed retained her seat. Kathryn S. Fentress Man Charged With Statutory Rape

A 21-year-old Fentress County man faces charges of statutory rape after a TBI investigation. Stewart Dwain Matthews turned himself in Wednesday evening to the Fentress County Sheriffs Department.
