The deceased hiker who passed away after a multi-hour rescue effort at Fall Creek Falls has been identified. Van Buren Sheriff Michael Brock said 46-year-old Nathan Bayless was known to frequent the woods in and around his home. Fall Creek Falls Woodland Trail has been repaired after flood waters washed away an existing bridge last year. The new Lodge at Fall Creek Falls State Park officially opened Tuesday. The new lodge at Fall Creek Falls State Park will open January 1st. That is according to TDEC Regional Affairs Director Tara Wohlgemuth.
