Crawdaddy’s Interior Structurally Sound With Fire Contained Outside

Interior fire damage to Crawdaddy’s is limited as Building Owner Peter Metts went through and surveyed the scene Wednesday morning. Cookeville firefighters have contained the Wednesday morning fire to the Crawdaddy’s building downtown. Fire Chief Daryl Blair said just after 6:00am that crews have stopped the extension of the fire to surrounding businesses. Department personnel are working on several hot spots in the structure. Cookeville Could Extend UCHRA-Police Department Program

A pilot program between Cookeville and UCHRA’s Substance Abuse Solutions test program will expire in January. City Manager James Mills said an extension is worth considering. The Jefferson Avenue widening project is still in its property acquisition phase, but remains on track for bidding in March 2021. Cookeville’s Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation office is set to reopen to the public by the end of the month. Cookeville Utility and Tax Offices Closing for Maintenance Friday Afternoon

Cookeville’s Utility Customer Service and the Business and Property tax office will be closed to foot traffic starting st 3:30 PM on Friday.
