Sixth COVID Death Reported at CRMC

Cookeville Regional Medical Center reported its sixth COVID-related death Monday. According to a release from the hospital, the patient passed away last week but positive test results were not received until today. CRMC Suspending Overnight Elective Surgeries

Cookeville Regional Medical Center is suspending elective surgeries requiring overnight patients starting July 13. CRMC has 18 positive patients in the hospital and 30 others in isolation awaiting test results. COVID hospitalizations Wednesday reached the highest number since the outbreak began at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. “We currently have 17 positive COVID-19 inpatients, the highest number of positive inpatients we have had since the beginning of the pandemic,” CRMC Director Of Public Relations Melahn Finley said. Cookeville Regional Medical Center resumed outpatient surgeries and procedures on Monday. Surgeons and staff are currently working to reschedule patients whose procedures had been postponed.
