Stephens Street Power Lines To Be Buried

The Cookeville City Council approved an agreement Thursday to bury power lines adjacent to Stephens Street Baptist Church. The church will pay the city $16,000 and deed land to the city for future road improvements. The City of Cookeville will study ways to ease storm runoff in the Capshaw area north of Broad Street. Crossville City Manager Gives Update on Tax-Collection Figures

Crossville City Manager Greg Wood presented his monthly sales tax-collection report at the City Council meeting Tuesday night. Overall, sales-tax revenues have been good, he reported. Sales-tax revenues for September were down slightly from August, at $692,879. Wholesale beer-tax income is off a little from projections, coming in at just over $64,000 for September.
