Black Ice On Roadways Main Concern Entering Night

Pickett County road conditions have improved throughout the day, but black ice the main concern entering nightfall. Sheriff Dana Dowdy said main and state roads are passable. Several secondary roads and most bridges remain treacherous. Dowdy said Clark Mountain remains frozen. UC Sees Mixture Of Road Conditions, Black Ice In Some Counties

The Upper Cumberland saw a mixed bag of road conditions with some counties roadways being slicker than Thursday. A majority of Putnam County roads had black ice, but Road Supervisor Randy Jones said as the day continued, roads have slowly thawed. Secondary roads remain slick. Residents around the Upper Cumberland are being advised to stay home due to Winter weather conditions.
