Algood Approves One-Time Bonus For Employees

The Algood City Council approved an ordinance to provide a $500 one-time bonus for front line city employees who worked through the COVID-19 pandemic. The council approved the ordinance 4-1 with Mayor Lisa Chapman-Fowler voting against the payment. Chapman-Fowler said the bonus is non budgeted. The total expense will be over $23,000. Algood Approves $3.86 Million Budget

The City of Algood approved its new fiscal year budget with no new property taxes Tuesday night. The $3.86 million budget includes a $517,414 overage in expenditures that will be paid for by the fund balance. Algood Approves $3.3 Million Budget First Reading

Algood’s annual budget of $3.344 million received approval from City Council Tuesday night. The council unanimously approved the budget on first reading.
