This Week: Livingston Talks Firefighting

Livingston will discuss the hiring of full time firefighters Tuesday night.

The Board of Aldermen decided last month to move toward full time employees after a recommendation from the University of Tennessee’s municipal advisory board. At Tuesday night’s meeting, the aldermen will discuss the issue. Downtown revitalization will also be discussed. Meeting time set for Tuesday night at 6pm.

The Algood Council will hold a second vote on a one-time bonus on front-line employees. The board reconsidered the bonus at last month’s meeting after initially voting it down. The Tuesday night meeting also features a second reading of the ordinance to extend water lines to the Green Mountain area. Meeting time is 6:00.

Crossville City Council will explore approval of $419,500 of bonds for water and sewer improvements. The meeting begins at 6pm Tuesday at the Crossville Council Chambers.

McMinnville’s Finance Committee looks at options to expand WI-FI in the downtown area. The committee meeting part of the City Council’s Tuesday night work.

Thursday night, White County School Board gets an update on the school reopening process. The system switched to all in-person learning this week.
