State Department Of Health Hosting Virtual Event For Online Safety

The State Department of Health hosting a free virtual parent workshop Saturday highlighting strategies to keep your children safe online.

Regional Public Information Officer Rachael Nichols said registration will be open until Friday at 2:00 p.m.

Nichols said TBI Agent Robert Burghardt who specializes in internet crime will provide social media tips and real life situations for parents. Nichols said dangers of predators on the internet are higher than ever due to widespread access among the youth.

Nichols said participants will leave the session with a better understanding in protecting your child. Nichols said the virtual two-hour event means you can tune in from home. It begins Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
