State Department Of Ed To Feature Putnam Schools As “Best For All” This Week

The Tennessee State Department of Education set to highlight the Putnam County Schools System all week as a “Best For All” District.

Federal Programs Supervisor Bridgett Carwile said a school earns that distinction by designing significant amounts of COVID relief funding directly into student achievement.

“We invested at least 50 percent of ESSER funding into research-based strategies to raise academic achievement,” Carwile said. “And we’re also participating in the TN All Corps tutoring program to provide students with high-dosage, low-ratio tutoring opportunities at seven of our schools.”

Carwile said with the Best For All designation, the school system became eligible for more grant dollars. She said the Putnam County School System used its funding to partner with a consulting service to develop a strategic plan.

Carwile said the plan will contain student-growth projections and also develop processes that can be implemented at every school to ensure that school goals and objectives align to the overall district goals and objectives.

“We’re super excited to showcase what we’ve done and how we are improving student outcomes and student achievement,” Carwile said.
