State Board Investigation Of Lee Underway

The State Board of Education has begun a review of Overton County teacher Mark Lee’s teaching license.

Overton County Schools submitted its investigation of Lee to the state. Lee was accused of sexually harrassing students on multiple occasions. He was removed from his teaching post by Director of Schools Mark Winningham and reassigned.

The state board will first review the local investigation to determine if State Board Review Committee should look at the case and bring the license up for review.

A board spokesperson said the process can take three to six months.
