Sparta Business/Non-Profit Moves Into Bockman Way Space

Sparta’s Sunset Outfitters and Calfkiller Conservancy bringing more opportunities to the community thanks to a new lease agreement with the city.

Owner and Founder Samantha Satterfield said she has already moved into the location on the corner of West Bockman Way and Carter Street.

“We’re still going to do pay what you can rentals,” Satterfield said. “We’re going to do brewery and winery tours of Sparta and talk about the history a little bit. Also that spot is hopefully going to be a good area for river safety.”

Satterfield said as a certified kayak instructor, she wants to teach families how to be safe. Satterfield said she also plans to continue animal shelter work by acclimating foster dogs to trails and water to increase adaptability.

Satterfield said she started the kayaking company and conservancy based on her time as a traveling nurse. Satterfield said she would visit towns with an adventurous community, which is something that she wanted to bring to Sparta.
