Snyder Indicted in Shooting Death of 11-Year-Old Girl

A Clay County Grand Jury has indicted a man charged with fatally shooting an 11-year-old girl.

30-year-old Jacob Stanley Snyder was arraigned in court Tuesday after being indicted on 12 counts last week.

Snyder is accused of shooting and killing 11-year-old Harley Evans at her Hermitage Springs home last fall. Evans’ father Justin Evans and his girlfriend, Kelsey Rhoton, were also wounded in the shooting.

Snyder previously appeared in court Dec. 13 for an initial hearing, where video surveillance evidence and officer testimony placed him at the crime scene when the shooting occurred.

Snyder will next appear in court April 4 for a status hearing before a sentencing hearing takes place.
