A Saturday night crash on Highway 56 in DeKalb County claimed the life of a Smithville man.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the deceased as 20-year-old Samuel Wright.
A crash report said Wright died at the scene after his Mini Cooper collided with a Dodge Charger, driven by Hunter Hoffman of Mt. Juliet. Hoffman suffered non life threatening injuries and received treatment at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
The THP Crash Incident Response Team (CIRT) continues to investigate what caused the crash to occur.
