Rodgers Re-Elected As Putnam County Commission Chairman

Ben Rodgers will serve another year as the Putnam County Commission Chairman.

Commissioners re-elected Rodgers to the position during Monday’s meeting. The 9th District Commissioner said he appreciates his colleagues for putting their trust in him for another year.

“For me, it’s neat to know that they (commissioners) feel that I’m worthy of it, but the chairman is no bigger than the commission as a whole,” Rodgers said. “It means a lot that they trust me and respect me in that part of county government, but the commission as a whole is a lot more important than that position.”

Rodgers said he’s hoping to show some improvement while serving as chairman for the next year.

“Hopefully we can try to be as united as possible for this next year and get some good things done for Putnam County,” Rodgers said. “I’m very grateful. We have a great commission and I appreciate their trust in me.”

Commissioners first elected Rodgers as chairman in 2018. He has served as 9th District Commissioner for the past five years.

The Putnam County Commission on Monday also re-elected Jim Martin as chairman pro tem and Mike Atwood as parliamentarian.
