Rock Island State Park inviting visitors to partake in their Fall Float pontoon boat tours scheduled throughout the season.
Park Manager Damon Graham said the tours offer visitors a different side of Center Hill Lake than the summer season due to a difference in water levels and difference in lake crowds.
“So in the fall we kind of change gears and start doing them on Great Falls Lake which is above TVA’s Great Falls Lake,” Graham said. “We tell people to plan for about an hour and a half. We go upstream on Great Falls’ Lake which has the Collins River, the Rocky River and the Caney Fork River.
Graham said visitors will see not only the historic points of interest, but the beautiful colors Rock Island State Park has to offer this season. He said that they tried to plan the Fall Floats to happen around the peak of the leaves’ color.
Graham said the tours are popular amongst visitors, and several have sold out. He said those interested in the $10 floats can go to the Tennessee State Park’s website to reserve a spot. The first Fall Float happens this Saturday at noon.
