Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Lynn White, age 68, of Livingston will be conducted 11 a.m. eastern time, Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Mrs. Betty passed from this life on Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born May 15, 1949 in Anderson County Tennessee to the late Elmer & Eleanor Friels Gallion. She work in production at Hutchinson for many years known there as the Queen and her late husband James as the King. Betty loved to travel, enjoyed all types of music and miniature golf. Betty is survived by her sons, Jimmy White and wife Jeanie of Sparta, TN & Jeff White of Clinton, TN; 3 grandchildren, Nathan, Caleb & Allison; special nephew, Sam Strickland; sister-in-laws, Nan Gallion & Sadie Gallion. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, James White; sister, Barbara Gallion & brothers, David & Charles Gallion. The family will welcome friends at the graveside.

Funeral services for Martha Stewart Flatt, age 68, of Cookeville will be held Thursday, April 5th, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Baptist Church, Dickson, Tennessee, with Pastor Randy Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens, Dickson. Martha passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 at her home in Cookeville following extended illness. She was born Friday, March 17, 1950 in Dickson, Tennessee to Johnnie Stewart and the late Margaret Lucille Dunn Stewart. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved crafts and gardening. In addition to her mother, Martha was preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Shelton. She is survived by: her husband of thirty nine years, Donnie Flatt, father, Johnnie Stewart, Sr. of Dickson; two daughters, Libby (Maurice) Shoemake and Laura Bennett and her fiance’ Brent Byers, all of Cookeville; son, James (Kristie) Flatt of Arab, Alabama; two sisters, Sue (Doug) Edmisson and Kay (Randy) Franklin, all of Dickson; brother, Johnnie Stewart, Jr. of Dickson; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home, and Thursday, April 5, 2018, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church in Dickson.

Funeral Services for Geneva Belle Glasgow, 92 of Cookeville, will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Geneva went home to Jesus on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Signature Health Care of Putnam County in Algood. Geneva was born Wednesday, August 12, 1925 in Rickman and she was the daughter of the late Lonzie Fountain and Margaret Beulah (Langford) Lewis. Geneva was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and a devoted servant of Christ. Geneva is survived by: 5 Children: Robert and Diane Glasgow, Roger and Ruth Glasgow, Pat Marek, Ron Glasgow, Jeff and Wang-Ying Glasgow; 11 Grandchildren: Jennifer and Craig Wiita, Scott Glasgow, Kevin Glasgow, Amber Haney, John,Jr. and Joelle Marek, Matthew and Melissa Marek, Justin and Brandy Marek, Stephen Glasgow, Kelly Glasgow, Shane and Melanie Jaworski, and Chris and Rosemary Jaworski; 22 Great-Grandchildren; 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Ella Jean Hight, Marcia Shipley; Brother: Curtis Lewis; A host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Geneva was preceded in death by: Husband, Cleston “Scottie” or “Sid” Glasgow, Brother and Sister-In-Law, George and Clara Collier and Son-In-Law, John Marek, Sr. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. A.V. Thomas, 87, of Gainesboro, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John Young Cemetery in the Shiloh community. She passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018, at her residence. She was born June 20, 1930, in Gainesboro, to the late Troy B. Hensley and Maggie Hensley. On October 8, 1949, in Angolan, IN, she was married to the late B.W. “Berry Tom” Thomas, who passed away April 30, 2012. She was a furniture factory worker, and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ. She was known and loved as “Nannie Thomas” to all who knew her. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 2 Sons: Larry Thomas and Garry Thomas; 2 Grandsons: Garry J. Thomas, Jr. and Stevie Allen; 2 Brothers: Wilburn Hensley and James Hensley; and 4 Sisters: Annie B. Loftis, Velvie Denson, V.L. Hensley, and Dorothy Mayberry. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Debbie (Elmer) Allen of Gainesboro; 3 Grandchildren: Jerry (Tonya) Thomas, Missy Thomas, and Shawn (Julie) Thomas; 8 Great Grandchildren: Bobby Dale Thomas, Emma Brooke Thomas, Lisa Pryor, Latoya Pryor, Thomas Pryor, Kaleb Young, Kaitlyn Young, and Kristen Young; 3 Great Great Grandchildren; and 5 Sisters: Lona Ledsma of MI, Edith (Charles) Mitchell of Gainesboro, Betty Sue Mabrey of Gainesboro, Jean Loftis of Gainesboro, and Polly Petty of Gainesboro. Memorial donations may be made to the John Young Cemetery by contacting the funeral home. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and on Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of services.

A Celebration of Life Service for Douglas Brown Winford, age 72 of Cookeville, will be held at First Baptist Church in Cookeville at 6 p.m. on Thursday April 5th with Pastor Scott McKinney officiating. Doug went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, April 3, 2018, at his residence. He was born November 14, 1945 in Lebanon. Doug grew up and attended school in Lebanon before earning his Bachelor’s in Wildlife Management and Master’s in Fisheries at TN Tech in Cookeville. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1967-1970 as a loadmaster on C-130 Hercules aircraft. Doug was an active member at First Baptist Church in Cookeville where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was employed for 36 years with the US Fish and Wildlife Services working as an Assistant Field Supervisor. His job took him to Florida and South Carolina before moving back to Tennessee in 1980. Doug loved spending time outdoors with his family and friends and was an assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 108 for over 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking, golfing, cooking and spending time with his grandkids. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Monette Brown Henry and Charles Crawford Winford; and brothers, William (Buddy) Winford and Bill Winford. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Ruth Bobo Winford, who he married June 14, 1968; three children and five grandchildren, Brian Winford of Roseville, CA (grandchildren, Huck and Marin Winford), Eric Winford of Boise, ID, and Andrea Coffey (husband, Luke) of Knoxville (grandchildren, Jackson, Piper and Davis); sister, Patricia Trowbridge of Stuart, FL; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Winford of Portland, TN; and many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 p.m. until service time at the church. Graveside services for Mrs. Ethel Aletha Stover Gunnels, age 83, of the Hatcher Hall Community will be conducted 10 a.m., Friday, April 6, 2018 from the Hatcher Hall Cemetery. Rev. Hillier Duke will officiate. Mrs. Gunnels passed from this life on Tuesday evening, April 3, 2018 from the Livingston Regional Hospital. She was born June 26, 1934 in Overton County to the late Virgil & Ethel Sells Stover. Ethel was a housewife and a member of the Hatcher Hall Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting & quilting. She loved gardening and cooking for her friends and family. She is survived by her sons, Randall Gunnels of Livingston, TN & Ronald Gunnels of Monroe, TN; brother, Joe Stover of Barberton, OH & sister, Amelia Hanahan of Marion, OH. In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Edward Gunnels; son, Richard Gunnels; sister, Oleta Smith; brothers, Lonzie Stover, Edward Stover, Kenneth Stover & 2 infant brothers. The family will welcome friends at the graveside.

Funeral Services for Isaac Shepherd Mattson, 1 of Cookeville, will be held 5:00 PM on Friday, April 6, 2018 from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with the Evangelist Rodney Pitts officiating. Isaac went to be with Jesus on Monday April 2, 2018. Isaac was born Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in Cookeville, Tennessee, he was the son of Arthur “Art” and Jennifer (Haley) Mattson. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, April 6, 2018, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Joel Keith Brown, 78, of Gainesboro, will be held at 1 P.M. on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Maxwell Chapel Cemetery in Hilham. The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. He was born November 25, 1939, in Hilham, to the late John K. Brown and Lona D. Brown. He was a construction worker. He loved gardening, enjoyed building things, and hard work. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 Brothers: Charles, Roger, Tom, and Melvin Brown; and 1 Sister: Wanda Joyce Ward. Survivors include 2 Sons: Greg K. Brown of Hilham, and Jeramy (Brown) Armonte of Cookeville; 1 Daughter: Tracey Brown of Cookeville; 5 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandchild; 4 Brothers: William Merle Brown, Edward Brown, Carl Brown, and Jr. Brown; and 4 Sisters: Corrine Albertson, Lois Dial, Doris Ramos, and Kathy Cantrell.
