Obituaries For Friday, August 17

Ms. Rebecca Brown, age 49, of Cookeville, passed away Wednesday August 15. Arrangements are incomplete.

Edgar “Mr. Ed.” New Debeer, 91 of Cookeville, passed from this life on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ed was born Wednesday, November 24, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Harry Debeer and Rhoda “New” Debeer. Mr. Ed was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His life was summed up by the song “Live Like You Were Dying”. Mr. Ed is survived by: Wife: Vickie Debeer of Cookeville; 2 Children: Bruce and Joyce Debeer of Marshall, Texas, Denise and Harvey of Florida; 3 Step Daughters: Denise Ordway, Dana Devereux, Diane Williams; Several Grandchildren and Greatgrandchildren; 5 Step Grandchildren: Josee, Victoria, Noel, Ninja, and Liam. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ed was preceded in death by Second Wife, Mae Debeer and A Sister. There will be a Celebration of Mr. Ed’s life at a later date.

Funeral services for Mrs. Louise Brooks Stanton, age 99, of Cookeville, will be 1 p.m. Saturday August 18 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Stone and Rev. Jonathan Young will officiate. Interment will follow at Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Stanton passed away Saturday evening August 11, 2018 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County.

Funeral Services for Tracey Lane Gniewek, 52 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, August 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Dyer Funeral Home. Tracey was born in Putnam County on May 26, 1966 to the late Ivan Franklin Lane and Mary Ann Pinkston Lane. She passed away on August 6, 2018. Tracey spent the past 10 years as a Registered Nurse. She is survived by: Son, Lane Gniewek and wife Allison of St. Louis MO Nieces, Brandi (Austin) Harris, Morgan (Zach) Gaynor all of Cookeville, and Stephanie (Greg) Loyd of Archdale NC; Step-Mother, Carol Lane; Great Nieces and Nephews: Bailey Honeycutt, Ally Grace Harris, Blake & Jessica Harris, Ethan Hickey, Olivia Dancy, Azton & Paxton Loyd and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles. Preceded in death by: her parents, her Brother (Gregory Franklin Lane), and her Grandparents (Ivan & Clara Lane & Walter & Myrtle Pinkston). The family will visit with friends Saturday, August 18 from 12-2.

A memorial service for Mrs. Dora Bell Brady Pollard, age 65 of the Gum Spring Mountain Community of White County, will be held 3:00pm Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Hensley Chapel Baptist Church. The Pollard family has entrusted Hunter Funeral Home with Mrs. Pollard’s cremation. Dora passed away Wednesday night August 15, 2018 at her son’s residence. Dora was born March 17, 1953 on Gum Springs Mountain to the late James Martin & Mildred Naomi Young Brady. She was a UCHRA van driver. She liked to collect bells. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband David Franklin Pollard; sisters Ruth Young, Velna Pollard, Joenna Luna; brother Dean Brady. Survivors include sons T. Frank Pollard & wife Valerie of Smithville, Larry R.Pollard and Kasey Hughes, J.D. Pollard and Kim Bailey, Patrick S.”Pat” Pollard, Toby Dewayne Pollard all of Sparta; Grandchildren: Thomas “Franklin” Pollard, Jacob “Jake” (Tiffany) Pollard, Katrina Allen, Courtney Pollard, Harley L. Pollard, Layla Bell Pollard, Alissa “A.J.” Pollard, Astrid Yott, Tyler Pollard; Brothers: James (Donna) Brady, Garlen Brad, Joe (Shirley) Brady; Sister: Jean Overton; A host of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00pm Saturday at the church.

A celebration of Life for Bonnie “BJ” Finkbiner, age 86 of Monterey, will be held on August 18, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. at the Monterey Free Will Baptist Church. She passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 2, 2018, into the arms of the Lord to be joined with her beloved Husband, Martin Lee “Fink” Finkbiner and Son, Orville Buck. She was born on October 31, 1931, the daughter of Seth S. Stevens and Mary M. (Wilton) Stevens. She made her home in Tennessee after the death of her husband. She was a member of Monterey Free Will Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Pam (Mike) Spillane, Cyndie (Wallace) Still, Lillian (Jack) Looper, and Cliff Buck. Her brothers, Jay Sr. (Sally) Moore, Orv (Dorothy) Stevens, Walter (Bonnie) Moore, 12 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren, with another one due this month. Preceding her in death were her sisters, Annette Lockwood and Irene Wolf; Brothers, Seth Stevens II and Roy Stevens; Grandson, Matthew Spillane; and a Great-Granddaughter, C.J. Buck. The family will receive friends at the Monterey Free Will Baptist Church immediately following the services.

Funeral services for Herman Osco Bean, age 89, of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 2 PM in the Chapel at Presley Funeral Home with Bro. Clarence DeLoach officiating. Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bean died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family will receive friends Saturday 12 pm to 7 pm and Sunday 11 am until service time at the funeral home.

Celebration Of Life Service for Fred O. King, age 84, of East Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Monterey, will be held Sunday, August 19, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Tony Phipps will officiate and inurnment will follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mr. King died at 3:40 p.m., Saturday, August 11, 2018, at OSF Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. He was born on June 9, 1934, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Roy and Pauline (Phipps) King. He married Lois Blye on July 3, 1955, at Creve Coeur First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Bob (Debbie Roe) King, Karen King, Dennis (Teresa) King, and Jerry (Dana) King; grandchildren, Melissa Bale, Jordan Woo, Cody King, Courtney (Rachael) King, Elizabeth King, Tim King, Ayden King, Brandon Wilson, Nicole Duckworth, Megan Mills, Michael (Jessica) Mills, Matt (Courtney) Mills; 22 great grandchildren; 19 nieces/nephews; brother, Kenneth (Anne) King; and sister, Helen (Harvey) Cummings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Rose Campbell. Fred loved his family very much and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He grew up in Monterey, Tennessee, and graduated from Monterey High School in 1953. He worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 34 years and retired in 1988. He had been President of the Route 66 Watch and Clock Club in Morton, Illinois. His hobbies included trading collectibles and collecting antiques. He was a dedicated St. Louis Cardinals fan and had a love of gospel bluegrass music and fresh Southern Illinois peaches. He was a selfless man and was ready to lend a helping hand whenever he was needed.

Funeral Services For Cathy Ann Phillips, Age 64, Of Monterey, Will Be Conducted On Sunday, August 19, 2018, At 5:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Bro. Nolan Cantrell Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips Was Born On September 27, 1953, In Monterey, To James Arlis Bilbrey Of Monterey, And The Late Ella Norrod Bilbrey. Mrs. Phillips Passed Away On Thursday, August 16, 2018, At Her Home. Mrs. Phillips Had Worked With Walmart In Algood, And With Her Mother At Bilbrey Crafts And Flowers. She Was A Homemaker And An Avid Bowler. She Was A 1971 Graduate Of Rickman High School. In Addition To Her Father, She Is Survived By Her Husband, Gary Phillips Of Monterey; 2 Daughters, Amanda Phillips Of Monterey, Lori Phillips Of Cookeville; 1 Son And Daughter-In-Law, Matthew And Chrystal Phillips Of Cookeville; 3 Grandchildren, James Phillips, Haley Phillips, And Cathryn Burton; 2 Sisters, Nina Scott Of Cookeville, Sandra Brazle Of Gainesboro. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Saturday, August 18, 2018, From 5:00 PM Until 8:00 PM.
