Red, White and Boom Classic Car Cruise-In Comes Back For 4th Of July Weekend

The Red, White and Boom Classic Car Cruise-in Celebration returns for its 6th year at the Putnam County Fairgrounds.

Coordinator Becky Raines said that people can expect interesting cars, music, and a presentation of the colors program, all starting at 9 a.m.

“We will be happy to have anyone,” Raines said. “We will have some tents that will be giving some shade for those who wish to attend. It’s just a good time for fellowship and we just have an enjoyable time and show our vehicles. You won’t see two of anything, all the cars are different, so it’s a nice, enjoyable time.”

Raines said that prizes will be available to those who participate in the car exhibition, including cash prizes and something special if you show up early enough.

“We have a wonderful array of things for the people who come,” Raines said. “We have for the first 100 drivers, a free dash plate and snow cone vouchers.”

Raines said that at their last show in 2019, they had 322 cars at their cruise-in celebration, and they look forward to seeing all the classic cars at this year’s show.

“It is open to any car that are classics,” Raines said. “From the 20s on up until the 60s and 70s. We have a great situation and enjoy it so much.”

Raines said the celebration is free for attendees, and that all people are welcome to come enjoy Cookeville’s kick-off to the Red, White and Boom events.
