Putnam Sheriff Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest

A Putnam County Sheriff Department traffic stop led to a drug arrest Monday.

During the attempted traffic stop on Spring Street, Herbert Jones fled in a white Cadillac SUV. He then ran off the road on Highway 70 and fled on foot.

An search of the vehicle revealed Jones was in possession of approximately 19 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine, almost $2,000 U.S. dollars, and other drug paraphernalia.

Jones was arrested and charged with Manufacture, Sell, and Delivery of Methamphetamine, Reckless Endangerment, 2 counts of Evading Arrest, and 2 counts of Violation of Probation.
