The Putnam County School Board approved draft two of its new fiscal year budget Monday night.
Director Of Schools Corby King said there has been no changes to the budget. The increase in the county penny rate has decreased the budget deficit to $2.193 million.
King said he expects commissioners to approve all budgets July 26.
“We may need to have a work session depending on what they do, maybe July 27, just to finalize everything,” King said.
The budget includes just over $4 million in increased spending with raises for school employees, a new janitorial contract, and just five new employees.
The board also approved an agreement with the developers of Spring Pointe to be built behind the School System’s Central Office. The agreement would give the developer access to the property for construction, but protects the system should any damage be done.
