The three Putnam County schools will hold proms July 23, 24, and 25.
“Prom is a special night and a significant part of senior class activities,” Director Of Schools Corby King said. “We will continue working with local health officials and monitor the Coronavirus situation in our community throughout the month of June and early July.”
The Upperman High School prom will be held at The Monarch in Baxter July 23. Monterey will celebrate at Cookeville’s Saltbox Inn July 24. Cookeville will hold its prom Saturday July 25 at the school.
“(We hope) the situation is stabilized and the Class of 2020 will have the opportunity to celebrate this special occasion with their friends and classmates,” King said,
King also announced graduation wristbands for four guests will be available at the high schools the week of June 8. Wristbands will be numbered for each graduate. Social distancing guidelines, entrance and parking information will be available at the same time. Graduates will be notified of exact times at each school.
