A Putnam County two-vehicle crash left a Kentucky woman injured Thursday.
A crash report indicates that 28-year-old Jennie Owens of Somerset, Kentucky was traveling East on I-40 within a construction zone.
Authorities say Owens slowed due to stopping traffic when 23-year-old Taylor Maitland of Nashville collided into the rear of Owens’s vehicle.
Owens vehicle ran off the left shoulder into a guardrail. The vehicle rotated around and collided into the guardrail again. After impact, Maitland’s vehicle rolled to a final rest along the emergency lane.
Authorities charged Maitland with failure to exercise due care.
The crash caused traffic delays Thursday afternoon.
