Putnam County Health Department patients can now find their COVID test results online.
Results can be found under the patient portal tab on the health department’s website. Health Director Lisa Bumbalough said the new feature will decrease the phone calls made for negative results.
“The process is much easier and more accessible for the customer,” Bumbalough said. “We do not have to worry about reaching them on the phone. Many times, we do have that difficulty.”
Bumbalough said people who do test positive will still receive a call from the health department. To view results online, you must provide your Lab Requisition Number, collection date and personal information.
“Results will be accessible within 2-7 days of collection date,” Bumbalough said. “However, it could be longer depending on the volume of testing.”
Bumbalough said in the past, the department called every patient regardless of the test result. Testing continues to be offered at the Putnam County Fairgrounds Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 12 p.m.
