Putnam Commissioner Terry Randolph resigned his 5th District seat Friday.
Randolph said he will be moving to the 10th district after selling his home.
“All the elected officials that I have had the opportunity to work with, I am going to miss working with those people,” Randolph said. “We had a really what I thought to be a good team, and we worked together really well. We got a lot of things accomplished.”
Randolph was nearing eight years of service on the commission. Randolph said with many projects left on the table, running for commissioner in the 10th district is something worth considering in the future.
“We got a lot of things going on right now in the county, and we’re moving in the right direction with a lot of things,” Randolph said. “The fairgrounds, the expo center, new location for the school bus garage and county road department. I’m on some of those committees, and I’m going to miss that. I do want to see that move forward, and I wish I could be a part of it. At this point, I won’t be able to, but that may affect may decision to run again in the future.”
The vacancy will be on the agenda for discussion at the December 20th commission meeting. The commission has 120 days to fill the seat.
