Putnam Ambulance Damaged, Crew Sustains Non-Life-Threatening Injuries After Monday Accident

A Putnam County ambulance damaged following a Monday night accident on I-40 in Roane County.

EMS Major and PIO Rob Clarke said that the crew had been transporting a patient to UT Medical Center and were on their way back when they got into an accident around 6 p.m. He said preliminary reports and photographs show that the ambulance flipped onto its side as a result of the accident.

“We’re doing an investigation right now we don’t have the full details of what happened,” Clarke said. “We’re getting detailed reports from the crew itself as well as we’re waiting on a THP crash report and we’re trying to get the footage from the dash cam currently.”

Clarke said that the three-member crew was transported to UT Medical Center for minor injuries. He said that as of the latest reports, the crew members have been discharged and are doing well.

Clarke said that they want to emphasize that the patient had already been transported to the medical center and was not involved in the accident. He said that they hope to have details from Tennessee Highway Patrol and a complete report of events by the end of the week.
