Strong winds Wednesday night and a line of severe thunderstorms have produced power outages Thursday morning across the region.
Upper Cumberland Electric reporting multiple outages in Putnam County as of 5am Thursday, including areas around Buffalo Valley Rd, Deberry Rd, Martin Creek Rd, Nashville Highway, and Shady Grove Rd.
Among the specific neighborhoods mentioned by UCEMC include Albert Swift Lane, Alcorn Cemetary Rd, Aunt Helen Rd, Bates Rd, Bethany Rd, Bloomington Rd, Bryant Ridge Rd, Deberry Rd, Dry Creek Rd, Floating Mill Rd, Helms Rd, Hobert Phillips Rd, Hopewell Rd, Lafayette School Rd, Leftwich Ridge Rd, Ligon Rd, Little Indian Creek Rd, McBroom Branch Rd, Medley Hill Rd, Mill Pond Ln, Prichard Rd, Robinson Ridge Rd, Rogers Cemetary Rd, Shaw Branch Rd, St. Mary’s Rd, Stanton Rd, Thomas Twin Oaks Rd, Timber Trail, Window Cliff Rd, Zion Rd.
Crews in Overton County are restoring power along Upper Hilham Road, Hilham Hwy., Rickman Road, W. Wilmouth and several locations in Livingston.
UCEMC crews in Gainesboro are working on power outages in Granville, Shepardsville Hwy, Freestate Road, Seven Knobs Road, Morrison Creek, Old Antioch Road, Fairview, Hilham Hwy, and Sidney Jones Lane.
Volunteer Energy reported some 200 customers without power in Cumberland County as the morning began. A handful of outages are also being worked in Fentress and Pickett Counties, along the border of the two counties.

Local emergency officials reported trees blocking roads in Putnam, Overton, White and Cumberland Counties Thursday evening. A wind gust knocked down a The wind blew down a traffic light at Turntable Road in White County. Trees down in Overton County with Highway 136 near Hardy’s Chapel Road was blocked. Old Smithville Road in Dekalb County reported trees blown down.
The westbound lane of Interstate 40 was blocked for a time near mile marker 273 due to a tree down.
A trained spotter in Warren County’s Centertown reported a wind gust of 58 mph at 8:43pm as the storms moved in.
Motorists should use extra caution this morning as branches and debris are likely on many roads and streets Thursday morning.
