Pollen Allergy Seasons Opens As Tree Blooms Arrive

The pollen allergy season has began as the main culprit being trees continue to bloom.

Cookeville Allergist-Immunologist Dr. Erin Rohman (Roman) said patients started coming into her clinic this week already experiencing allergy issues, which is normal for this time of year.

Rohman said any frost or cold weather moving forward will help dampen the pollen count. On the other hand, a wet spring would mean a tougher pollen season.

Rohman said April will be the peak for those struggling with allergies. Rohman said as late spring and early summer approaches, grass pollen will begin to rise.

Rohman said if you are not sure with what your allergic to, she recommends a skin test to find you allergies
