Pickett Hosting Hull Return Concert In August

Pickett County’s own Sierra Hull set to return home for a special concert this August.

Pickett County Tourism Coordinator April Haden said East Port Marina ownership wanted to have a concert and thought no better person to have perform than Sierra Hull.

“She’s reaching out and doing the lineup and bringing in a lot of her friends and talents that she has worked with in the past to come and perform,” Haden said. “So it should be a really good show. There is gonna be a lot of different artists there but yeah we are excited about it.”

The concert set for August 17. Haden said Hull has worked hard since she was a child to get to where she is at in her career.

“That’s what makes her so special she worked hard to get to where she is at,” Haden said. “And really before she turned 18 she has really seen and done a lot for her young life, so we are just really proud of her.”

In addition to Hull, Cookeville’s Jake Hoot will be part of the show. Hoot is most known for his hit single “I Would’ve Loved You” which featured Kelly Clarkson. The concert will be held at The Farm at East Port Marina in Alpine, thanks to owner Richard Devries

“He kind of wanted to start there and support somebody local,” Haden said. “And she is so talented and we are so lucky to have somebody like her from our hometown, and so that was his first choice was to get Sierra to come.”

Hull is a well-renowned Mandolin player. Hull debuted in the Grand Ole Opry at the age of 10, then performed at Carnegie Hall at age 12. A year later Hull landed a record deal with Rounder Records.

Tickets for “Coming Home with Sierra Hull and Friends” are available at Hull’s website.
