Pickett Educator Harlan Cletus Copeland Laid To Rest

A long-time Pickett County educator was laid to rest on Monday.

Harlan Cletus Copeland, died Thursday at the age of 74. Copeland served at Pickett K-8 as a principal, administrator, and teacher.

Pickett K-8: “Today we say goodbye to another PC legend. Many of you that grew up in Pickett County will remember Mr. Copeland as your principal. Through the years he could also be found in the classroom teaching or working in other roles of administration. He and his secretary Mrs. Alice Storie were certainly a dynamic duo, their love of laughter and creative Halloween costumes have left us all with the best of memories. Our sincere condolences go out to Mr. Copeland’s family and friends.”
