Penn Station Bringing East Coast Subs To Cookeville In 2022

The sandwich shop Penn Station will be coming to Cookeville in 2022.

Managing Owner Jason Day said the restaurant will be located on South Willow Avenue between AutoZone and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts.

“It’s kind of that mid-way point between Nashville and Knoxville,” Day said. “You got the university there, as well. Seems like a good, upcoming community. A lot from what I can see was fairly new construction when I was in town, so we wanted to be a part of the community.”

Day said the goal is to open the doors to the east coast sub shop in May 2022. Day said the menu consists of 17 different sandwiches and fresh-cut fries.

“We’re going to end up being roughly around 1,500 square feet,” Day said. “The location will have a pick-up window. About 20-30 dine-in seats, and it’s going to have a patio, as well.”

Day said construction on the new building should start in February or March of 2022. Day said the restaurant will bring 20 to 30 jobs to the area. Day said Cookeville will be the 16th location in Middle Tennessee.

“We look forward to coming to the community and can’t wait to bring Penn Station,” Day said. “I’ve been with Penn Station for 16 years. I love the product and really excited to bring it to new faces.”
