Peaks of Hope Hosting Livestream Event For Blended Families

Crossville’s Peaks of Hope hosting a livestream event this Saturday on how to handle and evolve your blended family.

The seminar is designed for non-traditional families like stepfamily couples, single parents, dating couples with children and all of those who care about blended families. Executive Director Scott Allen said the livestream will be held by a Texas-based group that helps families grow.

“Looked around and did a lot of talking with community leaders we found out that blended families, stepfamilies is really a situation that people are struggling with,” Allen said. “They feel like they are alone.”

Allen said the purpose of the seminar is to let people know that they are not alone in their journey. Allen said the livestream event will be held at the Peaks of Hope office with lunch provided. Allen said you will hear from several speakers about how they blended their families together.

“A lot of times we feel like we are isolated,” Allen said. “We feel like nobody can understand what we’re going through. Nobody else is going through these situations, so when we hear other people have gone through the situations, or they’re going through the situations, I think it is helpful to know that.”

Allen said topics of boundaries, bonding and family expectations will be explored. Allen said the livestream will have breaks throughout the day for in-person discussion with attendees and Peaks of Hope. Allen said from personal experience, he believes the seminar is something that all blended families need to hear.

The one-day event begins at 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The Peaks of Hope Office is located at 4188 Peavine Road in Crossville. Seating is limited so register by emailing peaksofhopecc@gmail.com. You can also learn more about Peaks of Hope by calling (931)-229-0098.
