PCSS Seeking Community Input In New School Year Calendar Planning

Putnam County Schools seeking feedback as the calendar committee plans its next three-year school calendar.

Communications Supervisor Hannah Davis said that the online survey is available to those both involved in the school system and those that are simply in the community.

“All of them can go and take this survey to give back information as far as what’s important when you’re considering and thinking about the school calendar,” Davis said. “Is it the childcare needs, is it the impact on student learning, is it coordinating your vacations? And as far as things like when would you like to see the school year end and start?”

Davis said that they would take the survey results into consideration once the calendar committee begins to create the calendar. She said that the system did a similar survey during the last calendar planning and that the information they received played an important role in the process.

Davis said that they believe this is effective to capture input from the community as a whole. She said that the calendar can be found online on social media and the school’s website. The survey closes June 12th.
