PCSS Seeking Communication Feedback From Parents

Putnam County parents have until Friday to make their voices heard through the school system’s Family Engagement Survey.

The questionnaire focuses on the means of communication. Family Engagement Coordinator Jackie Reynolds said the school system uses the feedback to better the partnership between educators and families.

“The survey not only let’s us know what the parents think, but it also helps us build that plan,” Reynolds said. “Say for an example they think we should communicate in a different way. One school Jere Whitson may do things a little different than Prescott Elementary School.”

Reynolds said the Family Engagement plan is updated annually with the data. One focus of this year’s survey is measuring a school’s hospitality. Reynolds said with COVID, masks cover facial expressions and make connecting with parents more difficult.

“They can find the survey on our Putnam County Schools website,” Reynolds said. “The schools also give those out either by paper, or if they look in Power School at the report cards, there is a link to click, as well.”

If you do not have internet access, you may come in and take the survey at your child’s school. About 35 questions are included.
