The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has opened its active-shooting training exercises to other Upper Cumberland agencies.
According to a press release, the training equips school resource officers both mentally and physically in the event of an emergency.
SROs from the Cumberland County and Overton County Sheriff’s offices completed the five-day training course. Vol State Community College campus police also participated in the exercise.
The program was created by PCSO Deputy and SWAT leader David Harding.
