Tennessee Tech Head Men’s Basketball Coach Steve Payne resigned Sunday.
Payne led the program for the past eight seasons, compiling a 118-134 overall record.
Tennessee Tech won the Ohio Valley Conference Academic Achievement Award twice under Payne, presented to teams with the highest number of athletes with a 3.25 GPA or higher.
The university stated in a press release that Associate Head Coach Jason Taylor will oversee the program as they begin searching for Payne’s replacement.
