After four years of service, Crossville’s Palace Theater administrator Ronny Hill will retire at the end of this summer.
Hill first joined the Palace Theater in 2007 and became administrator in 2016. Hill said leaving the theater and the patrons he loves was no easy decision.
“I have been here a long time,” Hill said. “You really get into this stuff, but with that acts and the people that come up here, it was a tough decision. It was just time to do it and time to move on.”
Hill will celebrate his 65th birthday and retirement on the same day. Hill said the next step is to go home, work in his garden and most importantly, relax.
“We’ve worked hard,” Hills said. “We’ve got a good clientele. We’ve got people who come from all over the county. We have people who call us and schedule their vacations around us. We bring top notch events here at the Palace for a pretty good price. It is just a good quality show.”
The city of Crossville will post a job opening for the position at the end of May.
The Palace theater opened in November of 1938 and played an important part in the lives of many people and in Crossville. The Palace is fully restored now and is a multi-use community auditorium and visitors’ center.
