Overton Schools Gearing For Summer Maintenance Projects

Overton County Schools will be busy with maintenance projects over the summer.

Transportation and Maintenance Supervisor Steve Mosley said that projects will range from installing new HVAC units to parking lot repairs.

“The funding wasn’t there and we wanted to get them all patched and repaired and then resealed and striped but it wasn’t there for that so now we’re just going to make sure they’re all patched and repaired and come back at a later time to do all of the rest.”

Mosley said that some of the projects, such as the HVAC installation at Rickman Elementary and A.H. Roberts Elementary could continue into the fall.

Mosley said the parking lot work will be covered through grant funds. He said that other projects are covered through ESSER, which has been a nice help in his work.

“To me, if the ESSER funding is there to get stuff done, you know how great that is,” Mosley said. “That’s just fantastic. “
