A new trailer facility add space to Overton County’s Ambulance Service is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
Director Jim Morgan said utility connections will be the last step for the billing office to move into the trailer.
“We’re going to free up three rooms that we use for billing and our servers and stuff right now,” Morgan said. “With the COVID, PPE and the supplies as well as the increase in size of the past over the 20 years, we are just needing more space.”
Morgan said the extra space will be used for sleeping quarters for overnight crews. Morgan said the billing office should be operational in its new trailer this March.
Morgan said the county wanted to do an addition to the current building, but the building costs came in over budget. The county commission approved purchasing a used office trailer as an alternative.
