100 percent of York Institute’s senior class have applied for post-secondary opportunities.
These include four-year degrees, trade schools, and entering the workforce. School Director John Bush said that’s increased over the last two years from 71 percent.
“That’s what we’re looking for and that’s why when we’ve got students who we’ve prepared to be a position,” Bush said. “who when they leave here, they’ll be able to keep following through with that.”
Bush said the school has a weekly leadership meeting to discuss several facets of school operations. He said that includes attendance rates, grades, who needs remediation and going “kid-by-kid and skill-by-skill.”
Bush said the other good news is that these numbers are sustainable. He said in looking at the data for the rising junior cohort, he believes they can achieve this same success next year.
