More than 4,600 registered voters have taken advantage of early voting in Putnam County.
Election Administrator Debbie Steidl said she’s not surprised by the numbers through the first four days of the two week early voting period.
“We have seen some good numbers, but we are not up to the number of folks who voted in 2016,” Steidl said. “That was a presidential race and this is a mid-year race.”
Steidl said she will be surprised if early voting numbers don’t start to slow down in the next few days and pick back up towards the end of the early voting period.
The November 6th election features races for governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, State House of Representatives, and State Senate.
The cities of Crossville and Spencer will be electing a new mayor and Fentress County residents will be voting on a referendum allowing liquor sales within the county.
Close to 400,000 ballots were casts statewide through the first four days of early voting.
