Paving crews are at work to repave several streets in Monterey.
Mayor Bill Wiggins said the street will have a fresh coat of black top by the end of July.
“The Rogers Group has been busy this week,” Wiggins said. “Right now they’re doing site preparation going a long all the designated routes. Doing the milling, doing some drainage work, and doing some shoulder work in preparation for the black topping.”
Wiggins said this project will eliminate potholes along the streets. He said routes affected by the project include Old Walton Road, New Avenue, Hillcrest Drive, portions of Whitaker Street and Woodcliff Road, and the full Railroad Street.
Paving crews are beginning near Crossville Street.
“The contract of course has a time limit on it, but I expect they will be well within the designated time frame,” Wiggins said.
