Monterey Subdivision Plans On Hold

The Monterey Wastewater Committee at a standstill in the preparations for a new Louis Avenue subdivision.

Committee Member Charles Looper said they met Tuesday morning but the developer was unable to attend. Looper said the committee briefly discussed the subdivision but was unable to take any action on the matter.

“I think our city attorney is going to write a letter saying what we can and what we can’t do as far as the newer lines that have put in there,” Looper said. “That’s all I know and until he sends a letter in we can’t do a lot.”

Looper said the city attorney’s letter will also state what has been done on the project so far and what needs to be done moving forward. Looper said the developer should be able to come to the committee’s next meeting.

“He had sent a letter in that he couldn’t be there,” Looper said. “He was out of town and he might be able to be there in August, I mean September or November.”

Looper said the committee was unable to establish a plan for their next steps because multiple members are leaving soon.

“Some of us are not going to be on the board after September,” Looper said. “So we can’t make any moves right now.”
