The Monterey Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday has been rescheduled due to Mayor JJ Reels entering quarantine.
“My son tested positive for COVID yesterday, and we’re following CDC guidelines as far as quarantining goes when a family member tests positive,” Reels said. “Just to be on the safe side, it is best to reschedule.”
Reels said the new meeting time will be on Monday starting at 7:00 p.m. at city hall. Reels said business will include the final readings of a food truck and alcohol ordinance.
“It’s a couple of important things that we are trying to get done to help better suit Monterey for events in the future,” Reels said. “That’s mainly what it is for just to put some language in our ordinances.”
Reels said no other city officials or employees have been exposed to COVID. Reels said business in Monterey will continue as normal while he works from home.
