Strong winds that began just after 4:00pm Sunday afternoon produced some scattered power issues across the Upper Cumberland.
Volunteer Energy reports a growing number of outages in Fentress County near Jamestown. The number increased to over 400 around 6:40pm Sunday.
Jackson County reported power outages along Highway 85 just before 7:00pm. Trees reported down along South Grundy Quarles Highway. Multiple trees down in Overton County, according to emergency management.
The NOAA Weather Service Crossville observations Sunday evening showed multiple wind gusts to 25 mph.
Cookeville Electric reported power out just after 6:00pm near Tennessee Tech. Streets affected include North Franklin Ave, W. 9th St, N. Willow Ave, W. Jere Whitson Rd, N. Dixie Ave. Kenway Street, East 12th Street, and Mississippi Ave. Cookeville Electric reported the problem solved with roughly 30 minutes.
Volunteer Energy reports about 130 outages along the Putnam/Cumberland County line. Scattered power outages also being reported in White Counties.
Cumberland County Emergency officials also reporting scattered outages.
Upper Cumberland Electric has reported no major outages.
Utility officials ask that you not call 911 to report a power outage. Crews are working to restore power quickly.
