Power Outages Reported Thursday Morning After Storms

Watch out for limbs in roadways this morning across the Upper Cumberland after Wednesday night’s strong winds. Winds gusted to 48mph at one point Wednesday evening in Crossville, according to the National Weather Service. Gusts around 40mph were common through the afternoon and evening. Cummins Falls Using Layered Protection During Severe Weather

Sunday’s rainfall caused Cummins Falls State Park to close as a safety precaution. Park Manager Ray Cutcher said the park monitors rainfall through radar, the National Weather Service and its own rain and water depth gauges. Minor Power Outages Reported Sunday Afternoon

Strong winds that began just after 4:00pm Sunday afternoon produced some scattered power issues across the Upper Cumberland. Volunteer Energy reports a growing number of outages in Fentress County near Jamestown. The number increased to over 400 around 6:40pm Sunday.
