McMinnville’s Town Hall Taking Over First Floor

The city of McMinnville will move its utility and business services to the first floor of city hall.

Regions Bank departed the Main Street space. City Administrator Nolan Ming said the city is trying to create a single municipal building to meet all residents’ needs.

“Everyone will be able to come in the front doors here right off of Main Street on the main level, and pay just about any fee or secure any license right there on the first floor.”

Ming said the city will make cosmetic changes for the floor and install a new HVAC system for the building. A new walk up window where the the ATM use to be will also be included.

“We will have some parking spot reserved for those people right in front of that location,” Ming said. “They will be able to park there, get out, pay at the window and be on their way. The downtown location here is good in some ways, but also bad, as far as not being able to have a drive thru. We feel like this is the best next thing.”

City Hall’s first floor at 101 East Main Street is set to open sometime in September. Ming said the city is waiting for the bank to move out, and the elevator to be repaired before moving back into the building.

“When the elevator is complete, and the bank is completely moved out, and we get some small projects done, we can move back in,” Ming said. “We feel like it will be great for the citizens and businesses on Main Street.

Ming said the city already owns the building so moving the utilities and business transactions from the third floor to the bottom floor made sense.
