Made Here Market Supports UC Creatives

Take the opportunity to shop local at the 2021 Made Here Market.

Cookeville Biz Foundry Program Coordinator Ashley Michael said it’s an event that highlights Upper Cumberland business owners and makers.

“We’ve got a lot of talent right here you don’t need to go outside of the area to get some really great, really amazing finds–you can do that right here there are people right here who are making amazing things for the community.”

Michael said customers can expect a wide range of products to shop, ranging from craft foods to jewelry to ceramics.

“It’s just a really good variety–we’ve got a good showing and a good sampling for everybody of what the area has to offer and I think that helps the makers too,” Michael said. “They can kind of showcase themselves and they’re not lost–if they’re a painter there’s not going to be 50 other painters there and they sort of get lost, everyone can stand out.”

Michael said she hopes visitors come to support Upper Cumberland creatives and entrepreneurs, and take home beautifully hand-crafted goods, among other things.

“We are celebrating the creativity and the entrepreneurship here in the Upper Cumberland,” Michael said. “We’re showcasing these people that do just that–that are making it their everyday lives being creative and to make amazing things for the community.”

The Made Here Market will be Saturday, June 12th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Michael said the event will close down part of North Cedar Avenue, and there will be some parking available.
